Xbox 360 looking to overtake the original Xbox in sales

VG Charts recently posted a news piece where Microsoft detailed their shipments of Xbox 360’s and explained how how the console is looking towards its older brother, the original Xbox.
With the latest shipment data in, the Xbox 360 also topped the third place finisher in the previous ‘console war’. Game Cube shipments stand at 21.7m through June 2008. At its current pace, the Xbox 360 should approach Sega Genesis and Nintendo 64 toward the fall of 2009.
I bet the new $199 price point has nothing to do for the recent turnaround success that Microsoft has had.
