Wii Like Spending Money?

It’s official folks, 11 million people now have bought into the hype of the Nintendo Wii console.
“Wii was created with the goal of expanding the gaming universe through its intuitive motion-sensing controller,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “As we have demonstrated this week during the E3 Media & Business Summit, Wii continues to pioneer new ways for people to interact with their video games and with one another.”
While the system is perceived highly in the media, “The system is credited with breaking down the psychological barriers between gamers and non-gamers.” We’d like to firmly ask, “Why are you all buying this console that has no good titles coming down the pipes and has been a steaming waste of investment since its inception? Sure there has been some good titles; Galaxy, SSB, Zelda, but isn’t that routine Nintendo? Do you not want something new other than waving your arms around to stimulate popping balloons on screen?”
I guess it’s the year of the casual gamer and shitty games.

its not hype its fact although i prefer my 360 and ps3 the wii is a good console and its definately awesome to entertain younger family members and is awesome at partys and stuff so stop saying its hype and stuff.
and BTW they got more great games than just the ones you said,
Really? I’ve not seen anything that left me wishing for the console. I consider myself a hardcore gamer, the Wii is more of a… “wave your arms around and make the blocks move on the screen” simulator. Garbage if I do say so myself. Our writer, Chris bought a Wii recently and he’s happy with the purchase.
To each his own I guess.
I love the Wii, I have 11 games for it and all of them are actually quite good, except for one which is Wii Play. It’s a bit fun, but is the kind of “wave your arms around and make blocks move on the screen” stuff you talk about. All my other games though? wonderful.
And btw, Dillon wanted a Wii when they first came out, but could never find one. Which is why I would assume he’s so bitter towards it. Me and him are best friends, and take it from me. Whenever he can’t get something he wants, he hates it. But as soon as it becomes available to him his attitude on the subject sure does change right away. ;\
Not true. I wanted one when they hyped it with all their good hardcore titles–which are now out, and none are being announced or being worked on. At E3 Nintendo said their Mario and Zelda team are at work. So again, wow, a one trick pony.
Geoff of Gametrailers TV was interviewing Reggie from Nintendo at E3 last night on Spike TV and he was even saying how Nintendo is neglecting all of the core gamers. Reggie got mad and said “We’ll they’ll be getting Animal Crossing”.
If Animal Crossing is the ONLY title you have coming down the pipes to be excited for as a hardcore/dedicated gamer… that’s going to be a very pathetic console.
Obviously it won’t be. I’m not even an Animal Crossing fan really, but I’m sure Nintendo will pull out some awesome titles other than Animal Crossing, just because they blew at E3 doesn’t mean we all have nothing at all to look forward to this year other than that.
Actually, they have nothing else coming out for the core gamers. Reggie even said “Well the Mario and Zelda team are hard at work.”
So take that how you will.
